Reaching Your Fitness Goals

by Marcus Martinez

Have you ever really thought about what it will take to reach your fitness goals? You might be trying to lose weight, build muscle, increase endurance; but what does it really take?

Whether I’m setting my own fitness goals, or helping the people I train to fit theirs, I always try to remember that a new routine, piece of equipment, nor supplement will really make it happen. What will make it happen is intense, hard work.

When you add intensity to your efforts towards meeting your fitness goals, you are much more likely to achieve them. Once you set your fitness goal, visualize yourself reaching it, then push it every time your workout to make it there.

I can tell you what won’t get you there is a lack of intensity in your training and using the bare minimum in what you can lift each and every time, never progressing, and doing a ton of exercises to sculpt your body. If you follow what I say of training hard, training heavy, and training efficiently, you’d be leagues above 99% of the population.

Most people will not push themselves hard enough to get real results. How could your body change if you’re not pushing it past where it is right now? You need to train with high intensity, running that extra distance, using a heavier kettlebell, and giving that extra effort that will help you reach your fitness goals.

If you want better results, training harder will increase the efficiency of each workout. There is no magic solution to reaching your fitness goals, just hard work. Becoming fit goes beyond changing your body, its changing your mind to push yourself past the limits that are currently set.
