Healthy? Wealthy? New Year Is A Time To Invest In You!
This is the time of year when we all think about what might be in the New Year. In the back of our minds are a few nagging thoughts about what we really need to do, but have been putting off for a long time. Are we going to grasp the nettle or are we going to carry on in the same old way?
When you take stock of where you are it’s no use unless you are completely honest with yourself. Think of yourself as ‘Me Inc’. The New Year should be the time that you audit the performance of Me Inc. Is it still a good investment? What can you do to make it perform better?
It’s a sad fact that too many of us run our lives on autopilot and we seldom take stock of our most important investment - ourselves. Instead of taking control of our lives and making things happen, we allow things to happen to us.
New Year is a very good opportunity to take stock of your health and your wealth. Actually, your wealth is your health. It is the most valuable thing you possess, but all too often it is sadly neglected. We invest too much of our time looking after ‘things’ rather than ourselves.
New Year is a period of opportunity. This is when you can put right all your errors and mistakes. This is when you can identify all your bad habits and do something about them. This is your opportunity to give ‘you’ a bit of proper attention. Do you need to lose weight, for example? If you do, then now is the time to do something about it.
What exactly are you going to do to lose weight? Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to go through the same old weight loss battle in 2010? What if you could lose weight permanently? It can happen if you want it to. - all you have to do is to sign up for change.
Change is another word for learning. It’s not something that you should be worried about. We change all the time in our everyday lives, it’s what life is all about. There is no need to fear change, you need to embrace it.
Why don’t you use this New Year as an opportunity to change? Why don’t you start by ‘noticing’ more about ‘you’? Recognize what bad habits led you to become overweight and then identify new habit - slim habits - that will help you to change your behavior. This is the way to permanent weight loss. Your future can be healthy (and wealthy) if you want it to be. That’s a great thought for the New Year, isn’t it?
