The T-Bow vs The Wave Personal Gym

by Carol J Bartram

I’ve had a T-Bow for a while. In fact, I’ve got 16 of them! They are stacked in the garage and are forever in my way when I want to get into the freezer. Every six weeks or so, I haul them all to class and teach Pilates using them. They are absolutely great! Not only that, I also do my home exercise on a T-Bow - it takes up little space in the house, can be set up in the blink of an eye and is stacked neatly against the wall when I’ve finished my workout.

But now there is a rival on the market - cue the spooky music - the WAVE has arrived!

The Firms Wave is similar to the T-Bow, it’s shape is slightly different and it’s made by the Firm a company in the USA whereas the T-Bow is made and manufactured in Switzerland.

What are the differences between the Wave and T-Bow?

1. Unlike the T-Bow which is constructed into a single piece of high density material the Wave has a brace to help give it strength. Both are similar in size and shape although the T-Bow is less bulky and is easier to handle. Because of the the Waves supporting brace they will not stack. The T-Bow will easily stack 15-20 units high.

2 If we look at price there is a large difference. The Wave is just under $100 on the other hand the T-Bow will set you back over $160 (If you require international shipping even more)

3. With the Wave you get a stack of extras included in the price. A wall chart showing you the basic moves, several DVD’s which take you through basic to advanced exercises (Cardio, Strength and Fat Blasting). The T-Bow by comparison only comes with a wall chart and a small booklet.

4. Both can be used with elastic exercise bands, neither offers the bands as standard. However flexibands are inexpensive and can be bought from any sports store - in my opinion you don’t need to buy specialised (and expensive) exercise bands.

As pieces of home exercise equipment I think they are both fantastic and if used will help you to lose fat and tone muscle. My vote would have to go to the Wave, although I prefer the T-Bow it’s additional cost for the average home user isn’t really justified.
