It’s proven that if you skip meals or forget the veggies you are leaving your stomach empty. This sends signals to your body to hold on to anything you eat as fat to protect it. So when you do finally eat something every single ounce of that meal gets stored on your tummy, thighs or other troublesome areas and this hinders your efforts to trim your tummy.

Some people go overboard and eliminate all their carbohydrates. Your balanced diet however calls for carbs as a part of the nutrients you need for your body. One thing my trainer once told me as a “rule of thumb” is to shop the borders of the grocery store because that’s where you will find the fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy and meats. They are the foods that are usually fresh and not packaged with preservatives.

Frappaccinos, Sports drinks and lattes have tons of empty calories. Just because it’s a drink doesn’t mean you aren’t consuming the same amount of calories you would in an actual meal. Hidden sugars and carbs make up these delicious treats so when you’re trying to lose your tummy be careful not to indulge too much.

5. Breakfast is Best.

If you want to lose your tummy you have to take part in breakfast daily. If you skip breakfast your metabolism will stay at low and you will burn less calories throughout the day. Your body is waking up and it needs these nutrients and energy for the day.
