Lose the Pregnancy Weight with these Six Snacks
Getting time to eat can be hard in the hectic schedule of a new mom. Sometimes it’s just easier to get some takeout or a bag of chips but if you want to lose the pregnancy weight then try one of these six snacks.
1. Spinach - Spinach was a Popeye staple for a reason - it has a ton of calcium which helps build strong bones and muscles. This dark leafy green has high amounts of vitamin K that helps with keeping our blood healthy. Try Spinach in a simple salad with eggs and cheese.
2. Almonds - Almonds are known for their “good fat” which is monounsaturated. This helps lower cholesterol but almonds are also a great source of protein and of fiber. Try them in a trail mix or with your salad.
3. Blueberries - Blueberries pack a nutritious punch with iron, potassium, sodium, zinc and copper. They also have plenty of vitamins and all this adds up to a fruit that prevents plenty of diseases even cancer. Try freezing a bag and eating them on a hot day with yogurt.
4. Avocados - Another wonderful antioxidant, avocados will help lose the pregnancy weight fast. They are great sources of potassium which helps regulate your body’s own minerals. Try avocados in your salad as well or on a bagel with tomatoes and cheese.
5. Oatmeal - This may look like a heavy breakfast staple but oatmeal can help you lose the pregnancy weight faster. Oatmeal, a fantastic source of fiber, also lowers your cholesterol making it invaluable to your diet. If you aren’t a fan of eating it cooked in a bowl, try baking the oats into healthy cookies or breakfast bars.
6. Peanut Butter - PB and J sandwiches don’t only taste great but they are good for you too! Peanut Butter is a great source of protein and healthy fats. This low calorie staple is also full of omega 3. Try it with some cool celery sticks to keep it healthy.
These six snacks will bring the sexy back to your pre-baby body. New moms should also always try and be active with a fitness routine to lose the pregnancy weight. These foods are powerful snacks but also include them in healthy meals as well and you will feel and look better for it.
