Can You Eat Junk Food And Lose Weight?
Finally, after trying MANY diets something clicked in my brain that made sense. I was totally incapable of sticking to any one of them for more than a couple of days always trying to rationalize and finding an excuse to go off course.
I used to envy the people who could start a diet and stay on it, and I commended them for following them and making the diet plans work for them, but I don’t envy them any more.
I had an epiphany about myself one day. I could lose weight and not be on a diet. The secret to my fat loss was using my common sense and making some changes in my lifestyle. Let’s face it, anything new requires some change.
1. Eat snack size meals throughout the day
Many years my doctor told me to eat more often but smaller portions because I am hypoglycemic. I didn’t bother, because hamburgers & fries, pizza and beer were the things I loved.
No I eat 5 small meals a day, instead of the two I used to eat. Now I don’t feel hungry all the time and my body functions better because I’m losing more weight.
2. Eat the things you like
Seriously, If all you love is candy bars and pancakes, then you will have a serious problem losing weight.
Most diet plans will require not eating all the food you like. Yes, it makes sense because that was what made you put on weight in the first place, so again, it makes sense to stop eating these in order to lose weight. Why can’t you lose weight while still eating your favorite food?
You can do this. The key is regulating what you eat and how often you are eating the junk foods.
A large part of my fat loss secret is still eating my favorite foods but being sensible about it. Because I love junk food, I have to limit my intake to only a couple of times a week, but this is not killing me.
3. Nutrition
I had to adapt and learn that proper nutrition was very important and that good, nutritional food wad not only low in calories but also good for me. Basically eating healthy food that is good for me.
4. Do some exercise.
Only aerobic exercises will make your body strong and get your metabolism working hard. The key to staying in good shape is at least 4 sessions a week of about 25 minutes.
If you hate exercising change your outlook, get somebody to do it with you. Aerobic exercises like swimming, running and power walking are great, but find something you like because without exercise you are going to have a hard time losing weight.
When I started I didn’t know if it was going to work, or if I was just getting into another diet plan, but the secret is to use a combination of everything.
It has worked for the last 7 years, breaking bad eating habits and not eating till I was stuffed. Anyone can lose weight and keep it off by just using some common sense.
